In this paper, an Active Structural Acoustic Control (ASAC) is implemented on a laboratory quarter-car test bench using a feedforward Filtered-Reference-Least Mean Square (FX-LMS) controller. Experimentally, the vibrations or the error signals are measured using force sensors, the road-tire disturbance is injected using a dynamic shaker and measured by a capacitive strain sensor implemented at the tire tread area, and the output control signals are sent to two actuators located on the quarter-car to reduce the road noise. Using a real time data acquisition system connecting all our sensors and actuators to MATLAB Simulink, a 4 dB attenuation on transmitted forces was obtained in the 20–250 Hz range. These results are promising for the implementation of such a system.
