Mechatronic Modelling of Electric Pump Units to Reach Ecodesign Requirements

Based on normative requirements of variable speed pump applications, thisp aper presents boundary parameters and load profiles from EU regulations that are relevant for the design process of today's pump applications. A model-based approach is described, which can be used in a computer-aided design routine to optimize the designof pumps considering different criteria. In particular, the holistic mechatronic approach is of high importance.
