Development of the control algorithm for the two-unit fast-charging stations

Two-unit fast-charging station has been considered for electric vehicles. Restrictions on the power consumption and output current of the charging unit is demonstrated. Taking into account the identified restrictions, we suggested to charge batteries of two electric vehicles alternately with specified operating modes before accepted conditions would be satisfied. This control algorithm has been tested on EV DUAL Charge 50. Compared with the sequential charging of the batteries of two EVs, it allowed to reduce the time by 37% at the given limitation of the current consumption and output power without overloading the infrastructure. This article is of interest for technical specialists who develop fast-charging stations with an increased throughput capacity.
